I have been working on a couple of projects lately. I have forsaken on my jobs. Time for some beading. Oh and resting.
I have been working on a couple of projects lately. I have forsaken on my jobs. Time for some beading. Oh and resting.
I have been making some new necklaces lately. One of the Bead and Button designers made a great design which I have tried already two different styles. One close to her original design and one with some of the beads that I have on hand. I will post some photos tomorrow when I take my photos.
I’m still working like crazy.
My sweetie and I had a plan which worked out. I have an aversion to spending money these days sense we work so hard to make it.
We had a goal.
We were working so hard to buy a car and retire my old one. It’s been and adjustment for me. I guess all the work I’ve been doing lately has made me an old lemon and not wanting to spend money. I am frugal, have always been frugal.
I have a great husband, we work a lot. We have work between the two of us. We moved into the modern age and bought a new car… First time ever.
Will post photos soon. I don’t have current ones on an a device to show you.
Happy beading

We did go on short journeys this summer and I took some shots while driving and if we happened to get out of the car.
I liked this building in Glascow Missouri.
Of course I love the old signage on the building.
This may be the front side of that building. I have to inspect my little thumbnails closer.
More views on the other side of the street. This is an overlook spot over the Missouri River. Beautiful views from these buildings.
Also the site of Battle of Glascow from the Civil War.
I will read up on this Battle and give you some more details.
Thanks C.
I’ve been trying to update my stringing skills. When I got my new bead order a couple of months ago this gave me the opportunity to mix new with old.
I made piles of strings.
I was trying to copy some of the necklaces that my customers at the cafe have been wearing.
Some successful, some not so.
I’ll post more of these later.
I’ve been having fun lately making little spiral rope bracelets. Fun and quick. Not as quick as stringing, but I get to beadweave those.
Happy beading.

I recently out of the blue decided to order some beads. I hadn’t done it in so long.
It was spur of the moment, and I was really praying that what I got was going to be okay because I didn’t spend a lot of money but was getting quite a lot of beads for it.
Yippee.
I really wanted these to be okay…I was taking a gamble.
Not bad. Some of the beads were acrylic and cheap, but I was just trying to buy a certain amount to get a discount. And since I ordered on the fly….I just looked up something quick.
Later I inspected these more closely.
Basically glass and glass pearls.
Bigger sizes than I usually use, but this is going to be fun!
They seem to range from 4mm to 20mm or so. So for me a new way to think of beading. What to do with larger beads. In the meantime I’m making this.
The camera makes the lavender ones look a little darker, but it is not as harsh as a transition from the pink to the lavender. I’m also using a lavender 15′s for the smaller circle of beads.
More photos after a nap. Take care and happy beading.

We have had some eventful things happen in our little town recently.
Trucks started pouring into our city to host an ESPN show.
This is the beginning of them setting things up.
More and more stuff was taken off the trucks and set up as the evening started to progress.
This was eventually where the sky cam was connected with the other sky cam.
The next morning these young men had been there since 5 am. They were from Smith Cotton in Jefferson City, ready to be the first in line….They even had their signs ready.
This was about 7 am, and they had a while to go before they started shooting any shots.
About 10:30 things started happening. They were doing some post game news spots for ESPN.
So in the tent was were the anchorman and anchorwoman were doing some live shots to show on ESPN the day before the game. I wasn’t going to be downtown on Saturday, I have another job, so I wasn’t going to be there for the actual pregame filming.
So this was a huge event for the campus. It was ESPN College Gameday @ Mizzou. The best part of it all was that we actually did beat Oklahoma that night, and celebrations ensued all over town that weekend.
I took this photo of Lynn, whom is one of the customers of the cafe, and friend of mine.
She took a photo of me as well.
They did get 18,000 folks right there on the quad the very next day, a record for the filming of ESPN College GameDay.
Things quieted down a little later, but I still took photos of all the activities that were there.
I ran into these two, more customers of the cafe, but also young journalists whom are currently doing a rotation at the local TV station. This is Rico and on the right is John. You can check them out on KOMUTV to see some of their stories.
Either way, it was a great weekend for the campus.
I have more photos on a different subject coming up in the future. I got Beads! Yeah.
